This one is about Twitterrrific

Recently ive been playing around with twitterrific and i found out that this application provides a couple of sites that you can choose to upload either your pictures or your videos. I'm only using the free version of this application and the specs and reviews might not be applicable to the paid version. The four combination for you to choose from are:

Yfrog
Twitpic/Twitvid
Posterous
Twitgoo/Twitvid

I tested them to find out which of this four combination would provide me with the most original/close to the original image and video quality, reliability, speed and also the ease of use. And this was what i found out.

Yfrog
Uploading is quite fast and it is quite hassle free. After the image/video has been uploaded, i went back to check on it and everything is working fine. The only thing that i didnt like about yfrog was that the video has probably been compressed (nothing surprising) so much that the quality of the video has been severely reduced. An example of a video that ive uploaded to yfrog can be seen here.

Twitpic/Twitvid Combo
I love twitpic. Out of the four, i feel twitpic is the easiest to use and theres really nothing much that you can find fault with. Uploading and downloading speeds are constant and the best part is that when i go back to try and take a look at my uploaded images, IT'S THERE! Wohoo.

Unfortunately, i cant say the same about Twitvid. i tried uploading a couple of videos of different sizes and this was what i got.

I thought perhaps something might be wrong with their server, lets cut them some slack and try again later. So i waited for a few hours to try my luck at it again. After waiting for a few hours, i uploaded a different video and this time round, this was what i got.

So bloody annoying lah can.

Posterous

Posterous was easy to use. Their site is very clean. Well, their site looks like a page from another blog actually. Uploading speed was normal but when you are downloading to view the video, it can get quite slow sometimes. But then again, so does Youtube right? The only thing that bugs me about posterous is that the moment you upload a video, your twitter info page will automatically be updated but your video at Posterous would still not be ready yet. It takes around 3-5 minutes for them to finally "release" it for your viewing. That, in my opinion is making the Twitter experience pretty much redundant dont you think? People want up to date info, right at the moment when you click on the word "UPDATE"; not 3-5 minutes later.

Twitgoo/Twitvid Combo

Well, let's just say i didnt even bother with this one; all thanks to twitvid.

So whats the final verdict? Right now, i should say im just settling for Yfrog. Though the video quality is not that good, but it is reliable and that, in itself, goes a long way. I love twitpic too but within Twitterrific, you cannot do without the other. Maybe today is just a bad day for Twitvid and maybe i was wrong. But lets just say that today, they didnt manage to impress me and first impressions do matter.
